A New Year is typically a time for big plans, and such plans really don’t get much bigger than holding your own festival. But – especially if you haven’t done this kind of thing before – organising such an event can also bring a lot of hazards, not least in terms of things that are easy to forget.

So, whatever the nature of your 2020 festival might be, the Branded Cups team would particularly urge you not to overlook the following things about your event.

Queue management

When your festival attendees are lining up for refreshments – or indeed, basically anything else – an overly long time spent queuing could easily start to become a source of frustration.

So, whether you need to add more food vendors than you presently have planned, or instead perhaps hire more event staff to help to manage the queues that do arise, you’ll at least require some sort of plan for this aspect of your festival.

Communication with attendees

What will be the main channels through which you keep your festival-goers informed as to what’s happening? Will there be a dedicated regularly updated festival app? What about an official festival website, forum, Facebook page or Twitter account?

How it’ll all look on Instagram...

...or on Twitter, or Facebook. The backdrop of your festival needs to be one that gets people hyped up about what’s going on, rather than leaving them underwhelmed or even (horror of horrors) inclined to mock your festival.

But of course, you’ll also need to keep to your budget with your festival decorations. That’s one more reason to think carefully about this aspect of your event well in advance.

The individual setups of your performers

Do each and every one of the performers you’ve scheduled know what gear will and won’t be available to them? Are they also aware of what time to load in and soundcheck? And above all else, do they know the time of their set? These are all details to double-check and triple-check as the festival itself looms.

What you’ll be doing with all of those cups

It’s a perennial post-festival image: mountains of disposable cups strewn about the ground once everyone’s gone home, presenting an image of the event as one that’s less than healthy for the environment. But you shouldn’t have to accept this as an inevitable and undesirable consequence of holding a festival at all – not least when dedicated reusable festival cups exist.

These cups in question, when you source them from Branded Cups, are high-quality printed cups that can be washed and reused again and again, and that your event attendees are likely to love so much that they may well choose to keep theirs as souvenirs of your festival.

Festival cups may be a seemingly small detail, but they can be just one more of the many small details that, together, contribute to your event’s success or failure in 2020.
